Bulgarian died in a bus accident in Ukraine

A Bulgarian citizen died in the accident near the town of Kovel in Ukraine this morning in which a Bulgarian-registered bus collided with another bus. The deceased was one of the Bulgarian bus drivers. The other is in hospital under close supervision. The driver of the other bus also died, according to the latest information from the Ministry of the Interior of the Ukraine.

Earlier today, Ukrainian officials said that both Bulgarian bus drivers had died.

There were eight victims of the accident. They include the driver of the other bus, passengers and the driver of the Bulgarian-registered bus. The Bulgarian Consul in Ukraine has travelled to the accident site.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Kyiv is in constant contact with local authorities and is co-operating with them. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to update information on the situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its condolences to the families of those who died in the accident.
