Valeri Petrov will be remembered with his infinite love for people

27 August 2014 News

With deep sorrow and sadness I learned of the death of the great Bulgarian poet, novelist, playwright and translator Valeri Petrov. Without any exaggeration, we may say that he was a real classic of Bulgarian literature, one of the last representatives of a generation of great Bulgarian artists, says Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov in a letter of condolences sent today to the daughter of Valeri Petrov -  Boyana Petrova.

Valeri Petrov was not only a writer and poet, trapped in the world of literature, but a true humanist, a man with a strong and entrenched civil stand, with a strong sense of justice and integrity. Valeri Petrov was a man who exuded kindness and humanity, he conquered the Bulgarian audience with his unique sense of humor and self-irony, says Minister Mitov.

We will remember Valeri Petrov with his wonderful poems, inimitable style, magnificent translations of Shakespeare, plays, screenplays, with his strong childlike wisdom, with his intelligence and modesty, with his infinite love for people, the letter says.
