Ambassador Radi Naidenov is the new Permanent Secretary of the MFA

Today Minister Nickolay Mladenov has appointed Ambassador Radi Naidenov Permanent Secretary of the MFA. Ambassador Naidenov was born in 1962 in Sofia. He holds a masters degree in International Relations form the University of National and World Economy and has completed a course in the European Center for Security Studies George Marshall. He has also completed specializations in Germany, France and the US. Ambassador Naidenov started work at the Ministry in December 1992 as desk officer for the Nordic countries. He consecutively worked as attaché and third secretary in the Bulgarian embassy in Berlin, Germany (1999 – 2001). He was Deputy Minister of Defense from 2001 to 2002 and Head of the Political Cabinet of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria from 2002 to 2005. Since 2005, he is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Austria.

 

Ambassador Naidenov holds the highest rank in the Diplomatic Service. The former Permanent Secretary Ambassador Maxim Gaytandjiev has been appointed senior diplomatic officer at the “America” Directorate, Department “Latin America”.
