Hristo Grozev will advise the Mechanism for Combating Hybrid Threats during the elections

Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov and Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky spoke with investigative journalist Hristo Grozev about Bulgaria's challenges related to external influences, active events, manipulations and hybrid activity.

Hristo Grozev was invited to support the activities of the mechanism established by the government at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to counter disinformation and combat hybrid threats in connection with the upcoming early parliamentary elections. The journalist shared the rich experience he has in exposing hybrid threats and espionage, talking about recently made revelations about Russian spies who have acted on the territory of the European Union, as well as about the new revelations of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that arms dealer Emilian Gebrev was poisoned with a military poisonous substance from the Novichok group.

Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov and Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky shared their plans to build a mechanism for a timely, structured and integrated institutional communication response to hybrid threats and attempts at external intervention and information manipulation. Hristo Grozev agreed to assist the organization with specific information exposing malign influences about which the journalist has collected information over the years. Hybrid threats and the deployment of foreign agents will be addressed at both national and European level through mechanisms developed by the European Commission.
