The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria unequivocally condemns the missile attacks against the industrial complex for liquefied natural gas Ras Laffan in Qatar, which have caused significant damage to the facilities.
We reiterate our position that attacks against critical civilian infrastructure are unacceptable, constitute a serious violation of international law, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and pose grave risks to environment, as well as to regional and global security.
We express our full solidarity with the State of Qatar and the rest of Gulf Cooperation Council member states, which are key partners of Bulgaria and EU, underscoring that their security is of strategic importance to global energy, economic and food stability.
We call once again for the immediate cessation of the attacks, for all parties to exercise restraint, to prevent further escalation, and to return to the principles of the rules-based international order.
Bulgaria remains committed to working with its international partners to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure and stability in the region.
