Meeting Between Minister Georg Georgiev and the Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, Arun Kumar Sahu
10 November 2025 NewsOn 10 November 2025, Minister Georg Georgiev held a meeting with the Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, Mr Arun Kumar Sahu. Both sides highly praised the relations of traditional friendship and close cooperation and expressed their readiness to work towards their further strengthening.
The importance of high-level political dialogue for advancing the Bulgarian–Indian partnership was underlined. In this context, Minister Georgiev reaffirmed the invitation extended to the Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to pay a visit to Bulgaria, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to host the next round of political consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister.
Bulgaria’s top diplomat noted that concrete steps have been taken in support of business, employers, science and education to encourage bilateral exchanges and people-to-people contacts. These include a twofold increase in the capacity of the Consular Section in New Delhi and the facilitation of the application process for long-term residence visas (Type D visas) within the territory of India.
Both sides highlighted the potential for cooperation in the fields of education, innovation, investment, technology transfer, and other areas.
