Political Consultations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Current Issues from the Bilateral and European Agenda

On 1 October 2025, political consultations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on current issues from the bilateral and European agenda.
The consultations were held at the level of Directors-General for European Affairs and were co-chaired by Mr. Yordan Parvanov from the Bulgarian side and Mr. Christoph Wolfrum from the German side.
The two delegations discussed key aspects of the EU enlargement process, the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union for the period 2028–2034, and the future of Europe, including the ongoing debate on EU reforms, as well as issues related to security.
On the bilateral level, building upon their constructive cooperation within the EU, NATO and on key issues from the international agenda, the two countries reaffirmed their intention to seek further opportunities to deepen their traditionally excellent relations.
