“Diplomats and Friends” Tennis Tournament under the Patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Held in Sofia

The annual “Diplomats and Friends” tennis tournament, under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was held on 27 September 2025 at the courts of the National Tennis Centre in Borisova Garden. The sporting event was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bulgarian Tennis Federation.
The tournament brought together employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state administrations, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps in Bulgaria.
Participants competed in the following categories: “Men 50+”, “Men under 50”, “Women” and “Doubles”.
In the “Men 50+” category, first prize went to Stephane Gross from the Embassy of France, followed by Petko Draganov and Georgi Vasilev, employees of the MFA.
In the “Men under 50 category”, the top three prizes were won by Matthias Ingolich from the Embassy of Slovenia, Georgi Zhelev from the Embassy of France, and Ivaylo Stoychev from the Ministry of e-Government.
Among the women, honours went to Marinela Davidova, followed by Asya Traycheva, both MFA staff members.
In “Doubles”, first place was claimed by Matthias Ingolich of Slovenia and Nikola Nikolov of the MFA, followed by Asya Traycheva and Ivaylo Stoychev, also of the MFA.
