Minister Georg Georgiev Meets PABSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, today held a protocol meeting with the Secretary General of the International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), Mr Asaf Hajiyev.
The main focus of the discussion was Bulgaria’s assumption of the first-ever simultaneous chairmanship of both the executive and parliamentary dimensions of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (BSEC), exercised through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Minister Georgiev underlined the significance of this responsibility and expressed confidence that effective coordination between the institutions would contribute to achieving concrete results towards strengthening cooperation in the Black Sea region.
The two sides also discussed forthcoming events within the BSEC framework, including preparations for the 66th General Assembly of PABSEC, to be held in Sofia from 23 to 25 November 2025
At the conclusion of the meeting, Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev extended an invitation to Minister Georgiev to visit Istanbul before the end of the year, expressing his readiness to further deepen cooperation between the two institutions.
