Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Pavlov today received copies of the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Djordje Janković.
During the meeting, the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, characterised by frequent high-level and top-level visits, shared values, and the absence of outstanding issues. Gratitude was expressed for Bulgaria’s constant support for Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic path. A number of topics from the bilateral agenda were also addressed, with a focus on successful partnerships in the fields of economy and business, tourism, cultural exchange, and others.
A priority topic highlighted was the establishment of a direct air link between Sofia and Podgorica, considered a key condition for expanding trade and economic cooperation as well as cultural and tourist exchange. The two sides also discussed opportunities for resuming the work of the Joint Bulgarian – Montenegrin Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
