Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova attended the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers in the “Gymnich” format, held on 30 August 2025 in Copenhagen.
The informal discussion among the Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States, organised by the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU, covered the topics of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and the working methods of the Foreign Affairs Council. Part of the deliberations were also joined by the Foreign Ministers of Iceland, Norway and the United Kingdom, as well as the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs.
On 29 August, the participants in the meeting held an informal dinner together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, the Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her husband, Sergei Tikhanovsky.
