Farewell Meeting of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Georg Georgiev, with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, H.E. Ms Katarina Rangnitt

Today, 05.08.2025, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Bulgaria, Her Excellency Ms Katarina Rangnitt. Minister Georgiev acknowledged the significant efforts made by Ambassador Rangnitt to strengthen bilateral cooperation and took the opportunity to extend his gratitude for Sweden's provision of specialised aircraft that participated in fighting the forest fires in the Pirin region.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed their active collaboration within the frameworks of the EU and NATO, emphasising their joint commitment to European security and resilience in the face of global challenges. They reaffirmed their aligned positions on key issues such as support for Ukraine, security in the Black Sea region, and the European future of the Western Balkans. The fruitful partnership in the realms of economic cooperation, culture, and education was also lauded.
Ambassador Rangnitt expressed her appreciation for the productive cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs throughout her tenure. She conveyed confidence that Bulgaria and Sweden would continue to develop their friendly relations founded on mutual trust and shared values.
