Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation has officially started

On July 14, 2025, the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office (C-i-O) of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) has officially started with the Coordination meeting of the BSEC C-i-O, BSEC Committee of Senior officials, BSEC Related Bodies and the BSEC PERMIS. The meeting was held online with the presentation of the priorities of the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office by H.E. Mrs. Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Bulgarian side will focus on environmental protection, the sustainable management of marine resources, cooperation in the areas of culture, education, tourism, regional sustainability, and crisis management. Further strengthening the cooperation with the EU and other international and regional organizations will be also part of the Bulgarian agenda for the next six months.
Under the motto "Collective Commitment in the Black Sea Region", emphasizing the common engagement for the prosperity of the region, the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office is committed to promote regional cooperation with a focus on sustainability, cultural integration and international partnerships.
During the closed session chaired by Mrs. Rositsa Stoeva, the National Coordinator of BSEC, the calendar of upcoming events and initiatives, to be held within the framework of the Chairmanship-in-Office was finalised. More than 50 events are envisaged to take place.
Bulgarian C-i-O of the BSEC Organisation will continue until December 31, 2025.
