On 5 June 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikolay Pavlov, received copies of the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr Arturo Arciniega, who is based in Athens.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state of, and prospects for, the development of the traditionally friendly relations between Bulgaria and Peru. The two sides discussed possibilities for enhancing bilateral political dialogue, including through the mechanism of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and Peru. A shared interest was expressed in strengthening cooperation across various areas of mutual importance, with tourism, investment, culture and education highlighted as priority sectors.
Positive expectations were conveyed regarding the outcomes of the upcoming European Union – Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (EU–CELAC) Summit, scheduled to take place at the end of 2025.
