Deputy Minister Maria Angelieva Chairs Meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism for Bulgaria's Accession to the OECD

On March 25, 2025, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism for Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired by Deputy Minister Maria Angelieva.
The participants in the meeting reviewed the progress achieved within the accession process. The outcomes of completed technical reviews and missions were discussed, alsong with preparations for upcoming technical assessments in the months ahead. The meeting also covered Bulgaria’s planned participation in the OECD Council Ministerial Meeting, to be held in Paris this June, as well as upcoming visits to Sofia by representatives of the Organisation's Secretariat.
Deputy Minister Angelieva expressed her appreciation to all actively engaged government institutions for their joint efforts in advancing Bulgaria’s path towards OECD membership. She noted that we are entering the final phase, with the aim of completing the technical stage of the accession process by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. In conclusion, she called for the sustained — and even intensified — mobilisation of efforts by all involved institutions, at both the expert and political levels, in pursuit of this key national foreign policy priority.
