Minister Ivan Kondov met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Szijjártó Péter

On 13 December 2024, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Ivan Kondov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Szijjártó Péter, who is visiting Bulgaria.
The two sides noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities for deepening cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Minister Kondov expressed appreciation for the support of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU for the abolition of internal border controls, which makes possible Bulgaria's full accession to the Schengen area.
Topical issues on the European and international agenda, such as EU enlargement, Russia's war in Ukraine and transatlantic relations, were also discussed.
