Top Bulgarian envoy: Skopje's stance on neighbours is alarming

Bulgaria has dug in its heels in opposing the European Commission's drive to open accession talks with Macedonia. Bulgaria's ambassador to the EU Dimiter Tzantchev says his country is losing patience with Skopje's alleged reprisals against Macedonian citizens who identify themselves as Bulgarian.

Brussels (dpa Insight) - Macedonia has drawn repeated criticism for embarking in policies adjudged as hostile by neighbours such as EU-member states, Greece and Bulgaria. Bulgaria's EU Permanent Representative Dimiter Tzantchev in an interview with dpa Insight EU, warned that the Skopje government's discrimination of Macedonian citizens who identify themselves as Bulgarians "should ring the alarm
bell," in EU capitals.
