Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Margus Tsahkna arrives on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, will pay an official visit to Bulgaria on 19 January. The visit is at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel.

The two ministers and the delegations they lead will discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest and topical issues on the international agenda, such as the future of Europe and support for Bulgaria's membership in Schengen and the Euro area, EU enlargement and the war in Ukraine.

Among the topics to be discussed will be innovation, new technologies, e-government, artificial intelligence and other issues for the benefit of the citizens of both countries.

The meeting will aim to strengthen cooperation in a number of key areas, including digitalization and e-government, as well as identify opportunities for joint projects and initiatives.

After the plenary talks, Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel and Minister Margus Tsahkna will make a joint statement to the media at 12.30 pm at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Members of the media wishing to cover the event will be admitted with press badges.
