Mariya Gabriel: Bulgaria and the US respond together to regional and global challenges

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel meets with US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The focus of the meeting was the strategic dialogue between Bulgaria and the US and common approaches to global and regional issues.
‘Support, coordination and a common response to the challenges are the key words. I am glad that as allies and partners we are responding together to regional and global challenges’, Mariya Gabriel stated.
Both they also discussed the topics of Bulgaria's strategic position in NATO regarding security in the Black Sea region and the European perspective of the Western Balkans. Mariya Gabriel also emphasized the Memorandum of Understanding between Bulgaria and the US on countering foreign manipulation of information and its key importance in an environment of increasing hybrid attacks and disinformation.
