Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria Huseyn Huseynov.
In the course of the talks, the two sides underscored the excellent bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which on 5 June 2022 marked 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The Bulgarian side highlighted the great importance Bulgaria attaches to its relations with Azerbaijan as a priority partner in the South Caucasus and the wider Black Sea region, especially in the context of energy diversification. Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev expressed satisfaction with the active political dialogue, which adds value to the bilateral relations. In this context, the issue of a possible visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Bulgaria in autumn was also discussed.
