Bulgaria was elected a member of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Bulgaria was unanimously elected a member of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for the period May 12, 2022 - May 11, 2024. This happened during the XXVI Conference of the OPCW in The Hague, the Netherlands.
For the second time in the last three years, Bulgaria has become a member of the OPCW Executive Board. It directs the activities of this one-of-a-kind organization, which aims to eliminate forever from the face of the Earth a whole class of weapons of mass destruction - chemical weapons.
The decision of the OPCW Conference is a recognition of the high authority enjoyed by our country in the organization.
