Deputy Minister Aleksandrov accepted copies of the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Netherlands

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rumen Alexandrov accepted copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Bulgaria Simon van der Burg.

The Deputy Minister wished a successful and fruitful mandate in Bulgaria to Ambassador Van der Burg and stated the readiness of our country to deepen the political dialogue and develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The potential for development of commercial and economic relations, as well as cooperation in the field of education, science and culture were among the topics of the meeting. “Given the growing number of Bulgarian students in the Netherlands, we would like to strengthen cooperation between Bulgarian and Dutch universities by holding joint forums and promoting contacts between people,” said Rumen Alexandrov. He expressed gratitude for the support provided to the Bulgarian community in the Netherlands. The two discussed the coronavirus pandemic and the vaccination campaign, the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the situation in Afghanistan. Rumen Alexandrov pointed out that our country highly appreciates the readiness of the Netherlands to provide assistance in case of need for evacuation of our compatriots.
