Deputy Minister Alexandrov receives copies of credentials letters of the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rumen Alexandrov accepted copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, Hussein Husseinov.

In the conversation with Ambassador Husseinov, Deputy Minister Alexandrov expressed readiness to maintain and develop friendly relations between the two countries. "We are satisfied with the overall state of the relations with Azerbaijan and we are willing to work for their further strengthening and deepening. We welcome the active high-level political dialogue in recent years,“ he said.

Among the topics of the meeting were the general desire to intensify the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, as well as the opportunities for deepening bilateral economic relations in the fields of energy, energy supply and other key areas of mutual interest.

The two interlocutors also discussed the possibilities of holding the next session of the Joint Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Commission for Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

Deputy Minister Alexandrov wished Ambassador Husseinov a successful and fruitful term. He, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome and expressed hope that an exchange of high-level visits would take place soon.
