The joint presidency of Bulgaria and Republic of North Macedonia of the Berlin Process for the Western Balkans was the key topic of the conference between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu.
Ekaterina Zaharieva reiterated the support of Bulgaria to the countries from the Western Balkans region and welcomed the active commitment of the Sarajevo-based Regional Cooperation Council for strengthening connectivity and convergence of the region with the European Union. Minister Zaharieva and Majlinda Bregu discussed the upcoming meetings of foreign ministers in the framework of the Berlin Process on November 9 and the Berlin Process Summit on November 10, 2020.
Majlinda Bregu provided information on the process of elaboration of documents to be approved at the Summit – the agreement to establish a Common Regional Market and the Declaration on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. Bregu reconfirmed the readiness of the RCC to assist the organisation of the Summit and the preparation of the conclusions of the joint presidency.
