Third of March Marked in Los Angeles Consular District

09 March 2018 News

Bulgaria’s national day, 3 March, and the 140th anniversary of our country’s Liberation were marked in the Los Angeles consular district by an extensive cultural programme.

On the festive occasion, the Bulgarian community in LA organised a celebration with folk songs and dances. As part of the event, Bulgarian companies presented their products and services at an exhibition. Those present were also able to taste some traditional Bulgarian meals.

The national day and the 145th anniversary of the tragic death of the Apostle of Freedom were marked at the Vasil Levski Bulgarian School in San Diego, and on 3 March Consul General Vesselin Valchev hosted a reception for administration officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

The Bulgarian Cultural and Heritage Center of Seattle organised a celebration during which the Bulgarian film Monkey was screened. Observances of our national day were organised at all Bulgarian schools on the West Coast.
