Reception Marks Bulgaria’s National Day in Morocco
09 March 2018 NewsThe Bulgarian Embassy in Morocco marked Bulgaria’s national day on 7 March 2018 by a formal reception at the Royal Ballroom of the Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses Hotel in Rabat. The event was honoured by more than 250 guests, including the Secretary General of Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohammed Ali Lazreq, Morocco’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Abdesslam Seddiki, and Bulgaria’s Honorary Consuls in Morocco Hassan Sentissi El Idrissi and Ali Chraibi. Directors and senior officials of all Moroccan institutions, public and cultural organisations, foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited to Morocco, Bulgarians, Moroccan citizens who have completed their education in Bulgaria and journalists were also present at the reception.
In her welcoming address, Ambassador Boryana Simeonova noted the historic importance of 3 March for the restoration of Bulgarian statehood, the experience of history and the road that our country has covered in order to become a worthy member of the European family. The Bulgarian Ambassador dwelt on the priorities and the official motto of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council. She stressed that the message of “United We Stand Strong” is valid wherever we have friends, and Morocco is precisely this, a strategic partner to the European Union and especially close to Bulgaria.
Videos on Bulgaria’s history, culture and nature, as well as the official spot of the Presidency, were shown at the reception. All guests received souvenirs: a martenitsa and a vial of rose oil bearing the logo of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council.
