Bulgarian Embassy in Islamabad hosts reception to mark the National Day of Bulgaria

A reception was hosted on the grounds of the Bulgarian Embassy in Islamabad to mark the 3rd of March, Bulgaria’s National Day. Over 250 guests were in attendance, among whom the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Islamabad Anne Marchal, members of the diplomatic corps, military attaches of the EU and NATO member states, heads and members of offices of international organizations, as well as the honorary consuls of Bulgaria in Pakistan Aslam Khaliq and Saad Ali Khan. On behalf of Pakistan, the event was honored by the presence of Daniyal Aziz, the Federal Minister for Privatization, of senators, members of parliament, ranking officials of the MFA, eminent representatives of the country’s political and business circles and members of the press. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, the Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development, was the guest of honor at the event.

In his welcoming address, Ambassador Rumen Pironchev familiarized his guests with the pivotal importance of the date March 3rd, 1878 for the establishment of Bulgaria’s national independence and statehood. He also briefed the attendees on the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 1028.
