Chisinau marks 3rd of March at Volunteers’ Monument

The Bulgarian Embassy in Moldova organized on March 3rd a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to Bulgarian Volunteers [in the war against Ottoman Turkey] in Chisinau and a recital by pupils of the Vassil Levski Bulgarian Theoretical Lyceum in that city.

Petar Valov, Bulgaria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova, delivered a speech at the ceremony, which was attended by MPs Filip Popov and Toma Bikov, by patriotic Bulgarians from Ruse and members of the Bulgaria community in Moldova.

On March 5th the Embassy hosted a reception to mark the National Day of Bulgaria, with the Taraclia State University choir performing the national anthems of Bulgaria and Moldova. Over 250 guests were in attendance, among whom members of the diplomatic corps in Moldova, of the presidential administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and the Bulgarian community in that country.
