We are deeply concerned by the news that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has launched yet another ballistic missile on February 12, 2017. North Korea’s actions are in direct violation of United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016) and 2321 (2016).
We call upon the DPRK to take into account the gravity of the situation, to abandon its provocative actions, including ballistic missile testing and to comply strictly with its international obligations as a prerequisite for resuming dialogue with the international community and reducing tension on the Korean Peninsula.
