The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the agreement reached between the leaders of the main political parties in the Republic of Macedonia to hold early parliamentary elections on December 11, 2016 and expects that they will be organized and conducted - as agreed - in a fair and free way in order to end the protracted political crisis in the country. This would create the necessary conditions for the Republic of Macedonia to return to the path towards the EU through the implementation of the "urgent priority reforms," defined by the European Commission, the restoration of public confidence in the institutions and the full implementation of the Przino agreement from June/July 2015, including the commitment of the leaders to take steps to strengthen good neighborly relations.
