Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov participates in the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia during his working visit to the United States. He took part in discussions on the transatlantic ties and the US-Europe relations, the trends that influenced the course of the campaign, the challenges in the field of foreign policy.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini also joined part of the discussions.
Among the other guests were also prominent politicians, congressmen, journalists, including former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman, foreign policy adviser for the Hillary Clinton campaign Laura Rosenberger.
Minister Mitov held a meeting in Philadelphia with Madeleine Albright, discussing the outcome of the NATO Summit in Warsaw and challenges facing Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region. The talks included also topical issues of bilateral relations.
