Minister Daniel Mitov to participate in Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg
20 October 2014 Diplomatic CalendarMinister Daniel Mitov will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council on 20 October in Luxembourg. EU top diplomats will discuss the main aspects of cooperation and coordination at international level and within the EU, given the growing Ebola epidemic.
The working lunch discussion will cover the situation in Libya and will be joined by UN Special Envoy Bernardino León. Foreign Ministers will also focus on the humanitarian situation in Syria and Iraq, as well as the regional and global threat of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
During the afternoon working session Ministers will exchange views on the current state of the Middle East peace process and the prospects for sustainable ceasefire in Gaza. Developments in Ukraine will also be among the topics of discussion. Foreign Ministers will talk on the support for the OSCE mission, the increase of the EU humanitarian aid, and in the longer term the recovery and reconstruction of Donbass.
