Visit by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar at the invitation of Minister Nickolay Mladenov
03 May 2012 Diplomatic CalendarOn May 4, Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov will hold talks with Dr. Khalid Al Attiyah, Minister of State for Foreign Affairsof the State of Qatar.
Minister Al-Attiyah arrives in Sofia tomorrow, May 3, at the head of an 18-member delegation including senior officials from various ministries and representatives of leading Qatari investment companies.
The Qatar delegation is visiting in preparation for an official visit to Bulgaria by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, which is scheduled for mid-May.
A number of co-operation agreements will be agreed, including an investment agreement worth $100 million discussed during the Bulgarian Prime Minister’s visit to Qatar in March 2012, as well as agreements in the areas of health care, agriculture, mining, customs and culture, to be signed during by the visit by Qatar’s Prime Minister.
Minister Al-Attiyah will meet Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
On May 4, Nickolay Mladenov and Dr. Khaled Al-Attiyah will hold a joint news conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The starting time of the news conference will be announced later.
