General strike in Greece

On 28 and 29 June, a 48-hour general strike is expected in Greece. The protests, which often occur suddenly, will disrupt the public transportion throughout the country:

All flights to and from Greek airports will be cancelled between 8:00am to 12:00 am and 18:00 to 22:00 during the two days. For more information, travelers are advised to contact the airline company that they use.

All port services will be suspended for 48 hours, including ferry services in Greece.

All rail services will be suspended for 48 hours, including the Green Line of the subway in Athens and the train transport in the suburbs.

 The Athens metro will be closed for 24 hours on 28 June and will resume its services at 16:00 on June 29.

 Bus, tram and trolley lines in Athens will also not be operational for 48 hours

 MFA advises citizens to avoid street demonstrations and follow the instructions of local authorities.
