Recommendations for travel to Cameroon

20 November 2013

Due to the registered common threat of terrorism and the subsequent kidnapping of a French citizen on 14 November 2013 in Cameroon, the MFA recommends Bulgarian citizens to refrain from traveling to certain parts of the country, except in case of emergency.

When travelling is necessary,  people must avoid in all cases the northern parts of Cameroon, including areas located in the range of 40 km from the border with Niger and Chad, including the Adamawa region and the Bekassi Peninsula.

Bulgarian citizens, staying short or long-term in Cameroon, can seek assistance from the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
