In connection with the complicated situation in the area of North Sinai and the demonstrations held in various parts of the country, the MFA recommends to Bulgarian citizens to refrain to the maximum from any movement in Cairo and other major administrative centers on 11 October this year.

In case travel to Egypt is necessary, people should abide by the following rules:

• to avoid night flights and flights on Fridays ;

• to comply with strictly announced curfew (from 7.00 pm to 6.00 am on Fridays and from 0.00 am to 5.00 am on other days of the week)

• to constantly carry documents proving identity and nationality (recommended - passport) ;

• to avoid places where mass rallies or protest are held ;

• to avoid taking photos under any pretext of public events, or objects related to the security forces ;

• to avoid conflicts with the police or other local government representatives ;

• to avoid making any comments on domestic and religious topics ;

• before the trip to be pre-registered at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Cairo, providing information about the planned trip, as follows: passenger name , location, period of stay , phone and email contact . Registration can be done by phone or through the e-mail of the Embassy.
