No Bulgarians injured in clashes in Benghazi

According to the Bulgarian Embassy in Libya, at this time there is no information that Bulgarian citizens have been injured in the shooting in Benghazi.

In the late hours of yesterday, there were numerous fierce gun battles in the city between warring factions. The staff of one of the largest hospitals was mobilized and treated victims. The latest information is that at least 27 people were killed and 127 injured. There are about 30 Bulgarian citizens resident in Benghazi, working as working as doctors and nurses. The Embassy in Tripoli is maintaining regular contact with the Bulgarians in Benghazi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that Bulgarian citizens refrain from travelling to Benghazi.
