Update on the situation in Turkey

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that the Bulgarian citizens located in Turkey not to take part in demonstrations and to carefully monitor the situation and the announcements posted by the ministry.
According to the Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Turkey and local authorities, by 3pm on June 5 2013 there was no information that Bulgarian citizens had been injured or detained as a result of the protests.
The recommendation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Bulgarian citizens to avoid the area of Taksim Square and central parts of the districts of Besiktas and Beyoglu in Istanbul, as well as areas in the central Kazalu Square, Ataturk Boulevard, Kuglu Park and Tunala Street as well as all government buildings in Ankara between 7pm and 7am.
If necessary, Bulgarian citizens approach the Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Ankara, Istanbul, Edirne and Bursafor information and assistance.
