16 August 2012

Since yesterday, August 15 2012, the situation in Lebanon has been characterised by rising tension, violence and hostilities. The problems in Lebanon are linked to destabilisation of the region because of the conflict in Syria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all Bulgarian citizens in Lebanon to exercise the utmost vigilance, to keep in contact with the Bulgarian Embassy and to ready, should the situation deteriorate sharply, to leave the country.

The Ministry calls on all Bulgarian citizens intending to visit Lebanon to postpone their journeys until the situation is calm.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut to available to give, within its capabilities and competencies, advice and assistance to all Bulgarian citizens.

The Embassy is monitoring developments in Lebanon and in the event of increased risk to Bulgarian citizens, will provide information promptly.
