Group of Bulgarian tourists on their way back from Morocco to Bulgaria

03 January 2012

After the intervention of the Bulgarian Embassy in Morocco, a group of Bulgarian tourists who were in the port of Tangier have had their passports returned to them and are already on their way back to Bulgaria.Earlier today, the group was unable to leave Tangier after their tour company improperly withheld their travel documents because of unsettled financial relations with Bulgarian travel agency travel Bets. After they were alerted, Bulgarian diplomats in Rabat, in co-ordination with their colleagues in Sofia, urged the Moroccan authorities to ensure that the passports were returned immediately, which has been done, and the Bulgarian group has been able to leave the country.
