Travel advisory: Greece

In connection with the forthcoming 48-hour strike in Greece on October 13 and 14 2011, we advise all Bulgarian citizens who wish to visit Greece that they should expect delays and changes in the operations in Athens of underground railway lines, buses, trolleybuses, trams and suburban railways.
From tomorrow, October 14, until October 18, a large-scale strike by fuel suppliers in the areas of Thessaloniki and northern Greece is expected, a result of disagreement with the measures announced by the Greek government.
On October 17 and 18 2011, all public transport staff will be on strike, shutting down all such services. On October 19, a nationwide strike is scheduled.
We wish to remind that some protests are not announced in advance, and on occasion the participation in strikes and protests of some unions are cancelled hours before the event.
