Deputy Foreign Minister Tasheva Meets Delegation from the Zographou Eforia

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva today welcomed a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Zographou Eforia to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, issues relating to the activities of the Zographou Eforia, its future development, and opportunities for closer cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other competent institutions were discussed. The role of the Eforia in maintaining the link between the Bulgarian state and the Zographou Monastery, as well as its contribution to preserving Bulgaria’s cultural and historical heritage on Mount Athos, was also highlighted.
Deputy Minister Tasheva reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to continue providing assistance within its remit. She proposed intensifying dialogue with the Eforia through more frequent working meetings and stated that the issues raised would be discussed with the competent institutions with a view to identifying possible solutions.
The Deputy Minister expressed her appreciation to the representatives of the Zographou Eforia for their dedicated work, noting that they had made this endeavour their personal cause and were genuinely committed to it.
The delegation, in turn, expressed its gratitude for the commitment and support demonstrated and conveyed its confidence that, through close cooperation, important initiatives could be implemented for the benefit of the St George the Great Martyr Zographou Monastery and the preservation of the Bulgarian spiritual heritage.
