Minister Petrova Met with Representatives of the Foundation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Churches in Istanbul and Edirne

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova met with a delegation of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of Bulgarian Orthodox Churches in Istanbul and Edirne, led by its Chairman Dimitri Yotef.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed her appreciation for the activities of the Foundation and its contribution to the preservation and development of the Bulgarian Orthodox community, as well as to the preservation of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage in the Republic of Türkiye.
"We highly appreciate everything you do for the Bulgarian state. Through your activity, you preserve the historical memory of the Bulgarian community,” Minister Petrova stressed. She confirmed the consistent support of the Bulgarian state to the community of the Tsarigrad Bulgarians and the readiness to further deepen cooperation in the defense of Bulgaria's national interest.
During the discussion, the current activity of the Foundation, the challenges it faces and the prospects for its future development in Istanbul and Edirne were also discussed.
