Deputy Minister Ivanka Tasheva Meets Irish Ambassador Catherine Bannon

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva held a working meeting with Catherine Bannon, Ambassador of Ireland to Bulgaria, in the context of Ireland's forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins on 1 July 2026.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review bilateral political contacts.
Particular attention was devoted to the three main priorities of the Irish Presidency – democratic values, security and competitiveness.
The discussions also covered the main legislative dossiers and initiatives falling within each of these priorities, including EU enlargement policy, the Multiannual Financial Framework and competitiveness.
