Velislava Petrova Holds Meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on the Sidelines of the NATO Ministerial Meeting in Sweden

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova held a meeting with Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, on the sidelines of the NATO Ministerial Meeting in Sweden.
The two sides expressed their shared desire to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen the regular high-level political dialogue between Bulgaria and Canada. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding the partnership in areas such as security and defence, energy, trade and investment. Cooperation in the fields of innovation, education, science and technology, as well as on key international issues, was also discussed.
During the meeting, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister also raised the issue of opening a Canadian embassy in Sofia. According to Minister Petrova, this would contribute to further strengthening the partnership and enhancing diplomatic relations. For her part, Anita Anand emphasised that the establishment of a diplomatic mission would make an even greater contribution to deepening bilateral relations and economic ties between the two countries.
