Political Consultations Between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Austria on Current Issues of the Bilateral and European Agenda

On 3 December 2025, political consultations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Austria were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on current issues of the bilateral and European agenda.
The consultations were held at the level of Directors-General for European Affairs, led on the Bulgarian side by Mr Yordan Purvanov and on the Austrian side by Ms Elisabeth Kornfeind.
The two sides discussed the most important aspects of the preparation of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) of the EU for the period 2028–2034, the EU enlargement process, the future of Europe, including the debate on EU reforms, energy connectivity, as well as security issues.
At the bilateral level, building on their constructive cooperation within the EU, the UN and the OSCE, and on key issues of the international agenda, the two countries will seek opportunities to further deepen their traditionally excellent relations.
