24 November 2025 News

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, took part in the opening ceremony of the 66th Plenary Session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), held on 24 November 2025 in Sofia.

In his welcome address, Minister Georgiev emphasised that, as the current rotating Chair of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and as one of its founding member states, Bulgaria remains strongly committed to efforts aimed at strengthening security, stability and cooperation across the wider Black Sea region.

“In the context of mounting challenges facing the region and in light of the negative impact of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which Bulgaria condemns in the strongest possible terms, active regional economic partnership stands at the core of sustainable development, good-neighbourly relations, competitiveness and shared values,” our country’s chief diplomat stated. Minister Georgiev reaffirmed Bulgaria’s strong commitment to constructive cooperation with the EU and with the Organisation’s other international partners, stressing that, through joint efforts, the Black Sea region can be transformed into a zone of peace, stability, economic development and good-neighbourliness.
