The Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in a commemoration of the Memorial to the Victims of the Communist Regime in Sofia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev took part in the commemoration of the Memorial of the Victims of the Communist Regime in Sofia, as a sign of respect and gratitude to all those who died and suffered from the repression of the totalitarian regime. The event brought together representatives of the government, public organizations and citizens who commemorated the thousands who suffered under the totalitarian regime.
In his speech, the Minister stressed the importance of memory and historical justice: ‘Today reminds us of the value of freedom and everyone's right to live without fear. We must remember the victims of totalitarianism and strive for a future built on human rights and the values of democracy.’
The ceremony is held annually on 1 February as part of the Day of Recognition and Tribute to the Victims of the Communist Regime.
