Ambassador Zhelyazko Radukov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of North Macedonia

11 September 2024 News

At an official ceremony at the Vodno Presidential Villa in Skopje on 10 September 2024, the newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador Zhelyazko Radukov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mrs. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

In his speech Ambassador Radukov noted that given the complicated dynamics of our bilateral relations we often tend to forget that Bulgaria and North Macedonia are allies in the most successful political-military alliance in history. This joint membership brings countless benefits for which our two countries have paid and will continue to pay the price necessary to have the privilege of being allies with all our partners and with each other.

As part of this cost, our efforts to build, upgrade and expand our ties with each other should be considered. In this case, this is best illustrated by Corridor VIII — a project that concerns not only bilateral interests, but the security of NATO's southern flank and the Alliance as a whole. The importance of this European transport corridor in all its dimensions cannot be underestimated under any circumstances.
