Minister Ivan Kondov was Guest of Honour at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria

On 16 September 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria was the guest of honour at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria. Mr. Borislav Boyanov — Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Malta and President of the Board of Directors of the Association, in the presence of Minister Kondov, briefed the members of the Association on its activities during the past reporting year. Satisfaction was expressed with the excellent and effective cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both the organization and its individual members. Minister Ivan Kondov's address was received with great interest, with which he gave an overview of the foreign policy priorities, activities and commitments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the preparation of the upcoming parliamentary elections abroad. The Association has 80 honorary consuls of foreign countries, only 20 of them have diplomatic missions in Bulgaria. This fact is indicative of the responsible role played by honorary consuls in bilateral relations, for which Minister Kondov warmly thanked those present. The Minister was also asked a large number of questions, which he answered during the formal part and during the informal talks that continued after the end of the meeting.
